Home appliance shopping is a challenging process. Shoppers are often intimidated or confused about where to start, relying on brand recognition, appearances and tiny product information cards. In partnership with Samsung and Cheil Worldwide, The Barbarian Group came up with a solution to simplify and transform this experience. Using creative coding framework Cinder and state-of-the-art displays, The Barbarian Group built CenterStage, a digital showroom showcasing Samsung appliances in ultra high definition and true-to-life size. The interactive installation enables shoppers to visualize how these appliances would fit in their homes with the ‘Change Decor’ function, which simulates contemporary kitchen and laundry room settings. For retailers and home appliance brands like Samsung, CenterStage displays the whole portfolio of appliances in picture-perfect quality, eliminates inventory restrictions, tracks analytics on shopper patterns and facilitates product sales like never before. CenterStage units are currently being installed across major appliance retailers throughout the United States and Europe, with a larger global roll-out planned for 2015.
