Design Army has reimagined the classic ghost story, transporting audiences beyond the stage in a new short film for The Washington Ballet’s upcoming production of Sleepy Hollow. Shot on location at the United States National Arboretum, the film thrusts the familiar characters into the shadows of a forest fever dream, tinged with the real-life horrors of the Salem witch trials. Design Army teamed up with Dean Alexander Production for this creative undertaking, which involved drone footage, masterful cinematography and art direction, a crew of more than 40, and a stunt horse. The result is a stunning film that translates the lush language of the ballet into an immersive sensory experience.
