Background: The Think8 Global Institute (T8G) trains individuals and organizations to fully understand their True Worth and, with it, create the New Possible for themselves, society and a world in need. Our purpose was to design an identity that reflects the values of the institute and to think strategically about TG8’s vision for the future.
Reasoning: We designed an identity and custom typography that would reflect T8G’s divergent thinking and unique approach. The logo had to work both as an icon and wordmark, given the diversity of its audience and multiplicity of mediums. Additionally we created a multipurpose piece, a publication and poster, mirroring its acute approach and fluidity of thought.
Challenges: We knew we had to balance clarity of communication and thoughtfulness with an iconography and a sensibility that would echo T8G's progressive framework of thought. This would ensure that we could attract an audience that was not a specific demographic but had a unique frame of mind instead.
Favorite details: We developed an intricate multilayered piece for T8G. Each fold produced a new level of meaning so we had to be incredibly thoughtful and intentional with our design choices. This led to a custom typeface based on geometry as a constant module. Any opportunity to explore and expand is a space we enjoy working in.
Anything new: We learned so much by working with the brilliant minds behind T8G. The organization’s approach towards how it mines into individuals’ potentials was an opportunity for us to do the same, to actually go through a similar process, distilling and revealing who T8G is at its best. This, in and of itself, was an incredibly rewarding journey.
