Unisource’s communications to designers promote more than paper. The primary recipient of the company’s charitable giving is Lakeshore Foundation, an organization that helps persons with disabilities achieve independence, largely through fitness and recreation. “With the ‘ten things you can’t do’ brochure, we profiled ten Lakeshore clients who have conquered formidable hurdles, and we invited readers to imagine themselves in the same situations,” said designer Steve Gibbs. “On the last page we provided a website where people could get more information and donate. At the same time, we used the book to showcase a wide variety of printing techniques on Unisource’s premium Starbrite paper stock, including printing notes.” The result is a promotion that speaks well of both Unisource’s product and its commitment to a good cause.
