Printed by Flash Reproductions, the annual nonprofit magazine Wayward Arts showcases Canadian graphic design with themed layouts by a different design agency every year. For this year, Flash Reproductions invited creative studio Blok to create an issue embodying the idea of “counterculture,” and Blok responded with a celebration of art, politics and design. Employing French-folded papers, the studio juxtaposed bold imagery with commissioned and found texts, expressing the dual nature of counterculture. The finished magazine evokes the rawness of subcultural manifestos and deconstructivist art movements.
