Duration: Founded in February 2004.
Education: Education of 72andSunny principals (above from left) includes a fine arts degree (John Boiler), a journalism degree (Glenn Cole), and a graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art (Robert Nakata). Our involvement in education includes guest instruction at Art Center, Otis, University of Oregon and Academedia (Sweden).
Cultural Influences: Living in Southern California, we’re a big part of skate and surf cultures, and of the film and content communities. We’re also drawn to innovators and innovations that serve environmental concerns. But all 72andSunny products are in part a reflection of the personal influences of the people involved, both on our side and on the client side, so it would be artificial to identify a company-wide influence. That said, we are aggressively insights-driven. And we seem to obsess about functionality, clarity and culturally meaningful products more than most.
Environment: Vibrant, democratic, digital, plywood.
Philosophy: Culture, people, culture.
