Education: Self-taught; I was a college dropout when I found photography.
Cultural influences: I was raised in Arizona and, despite having lived in Brooklyn for five years, I’m still heavily influenced by the deserts, Native Americans and cowboys.
Artistic influences: Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Man Ray, Wong Kar-wai, Yohji Yamamoto and Egon Schiele.
Big break: My summer story “Hommage” for Numéro magazine in 2013.
Work environment: In my studio there are lots of windows and natural light. Maintaining a fun, intimate environment is very important to me.
Philosophy: Beauty is what I believe beauty to be.
