Duration: Shooting professionally for three years.
Staff: Just me and the people closest to me (Veronica). I also have great reps in Dallas, Berry Lob and Heather Williams (Sanderson Hawkins Reps).
Education: I graduated with a BFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I was distinguished with the award for “Outstanding Achievement in Photography.”
Cultural Influences: I look to mix art history with current pop culture to inspire my work. I constantly observe and absorb the world around me and apply it all for direction in my photography. It’s inspiring to just watch people being people. I also look to film and television as a great source of ideas and innovation.
Environment: I mostly shoot on location whether it be an editorial portrait session or wandering the coast of Hawaii, shooting whatever I like. At home in Austin, I work out of the house, keeping a comfortable, laid back space that falls right in line with the easy-going attitude that the city is known for.
Philosophy: In order for your work to rise above all the millions of photographers in this world, knowing how to finish your work is the most important thing. You need to be able to take an ordinary photo and know what extraordinary thing it could become. Planning and pre-visualization is essential.
