Duration: "Professionally" since 2004.
Staff: Myself and four cats.
Education: Graphic Design MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Cultural Influences: My wife and son, Henry Rollins and Black Flag, Art Chantry, John Reis/Speedo, Mexican street art, Tod Ashley of Firewater, Edward Gorey, John Foster, GVSB, David Lynch, James Victore, Steven Heller, comic books, Stefan Sagmeister, lucha libre, Mick Foley, Paul Pope, Joseph Michael Linsner, Alan Moore's The Watchmen, Peter Saville and 16 Horsepower.
Environment: A very small basement office in my home that has clutter strewn about. There is a drafting table for drawing/storage with a set of full flat files underneath. My IKEA desk is sagging under the weight of my computer, monitor, Wacom tablet, scanner, far too many books, sketch books, T-shirt samples, a collection of Dunnies and Baseman Bunnies. There is a hodgepodge of posters by Edward Gorey, Twin Peaks ephemera, lucha libre masks, CDs and NPR and music playing nonstop. And to keep my ego in check, I am appropriately placed next to the kitty litter room.
Philosophy: When in doubt, make it cute or evil—preferably both.
Photography, to Brooklyn-based Tara Donne, means shooting what you love and trusting your gut.
