Location: Los Angeles, California.
Duration: 1,277 days+.
Staff: Of one, not including irascible pet chinchilla, "Chippy."
Education: A daily, ongoing event.
Cultural Influences: Art forms only ending in "-ian," Victorian, Russian, Asian and Persian among my most favored. Artists still breathing and readily admired: Ross Bleckner, Jason Holley, Philippe Lardy and Philip Taaffe. Also, the mind of the East and heart of the West.
Environment: An asbestos-filled 1950's second-floor studio high in the hills of Hollywood, frequented by tick-addled deer, precocious skunk and illumined friends. Overflowing with my dear wife, two daughters, lots and lots of books and computerized gizmos.
Philosophy: Spanish deep thinker, Miguel De Unamuno, wrote; "To fall into habit is to cease to be." I love this concept as it invites you to be responsible for your awareness, as well as open to and welcoming of that which is different. If you can manage those with kindness, your work will flow and your world will likely unfold to everyone's benefit.
