Duration: Two years.
Location: Amarillo, TX.
Education: BFA in illustration from the New Hampshire Institute of Art.
Influences: My influences are a combination of paintings from the old masters, current lowbrow masters, contemporary masters of illustration like Edel Rodriguez, fantasy literature, power metal and anatomy.
Technique: My subjects routinely involve anatomical structures, but I render them with Adobe Illustrator, which is more commonly used for simpler subjects. I offset the vector drawing’s smoothness with gritty textures, giving my work a distinct, tactile effect.
Aspirations: I’d like to become a regular illustrator for all of the top magazines. Building up that kind of clientele may take many years, but I’m in it for the long haul.
