Education: A BS in economics from Ithaca College, some graduate work at Arizona State University and five years assisting commercial photographers and working alongside inspiring photojournalists.
Cultural Influences: Love, belly giggles, Sadie, the browns, blues and golds of winter in New England, science labs, Zach, William Eggleston's color, Sirsasana, college radio, the walk from my parent's house to downtown Northampton, Josef Albers, gel pens, Emily's neighborhood (between the Mission and Noe Valley), creaky old floors, Tina Barney, clean shirts, Conoyer's farm stand, Asperger Syndrome, Robert Frank's editing, 10/27/2004, Etsy, intelligent blogging (hard to do), lunch, a good estate sale, my dad's early interest in photography, the parks in Brookline, age two.
Environment: Sometimes I think I can see all of Massachusetts from the window of my quiet hilltop studio. My real environment becomes wherever my work takes me each day.
