Duration: I've been working as a freelancer since 2010, but really got my start in mid-2011.

Staff: Just me!

Education: I graduated in 2010 with a BFA in communication design from Pacific Northwest College of Art, and two months later flew to New York to join the inaugural class of Cooper Type (typography design program) at The Cooper Union.

Cultural Influences: I love work that has a quiet simplicity to it. Most of the time I find these sorts of ideas in old European illustrated books, where a wash of bright color with simple lines can form an innovative feeling. In the art world, textile designers like Anni Albers give me ideas for new mediums through which to show my work.

Environment: I work in a big old factory building a few blocks from my apartment. The decor is eclectic and barny which differs completely from the stark white walls of my apartment, so that forces me into a completely different mental space.

Philosophy: Shapes +  pattern +  texture + bright color.
