Duration: Together we have a long history and varied experiences in design and visual communication, but we made a fresh start together two years ago!
Location: Stockholm, Sweden.
Beginnings: The studio was founded on the fourth of July 2013. We got our first assignments through previous work and word of mouth. Most of our clients so far have been in the culture or art world. Normally, a project begins with a printed product, such as a book or a catalog, but extends digitally on the web, or spatially to signage and environmental design.
Key creatives: Art director/co-founder Stefania Malmsten and creative director/illustrator/co-founder Ulrika Hellberg.
Influences: We work a lot within contemporary culture, fashion and art. Both our clients and collaborators very much influence what we do and how we do it.
Philosophy: We find that a lot of graphic designers talk more about strategies than aesthetics. We know that we’re not artists, but we’re not afraid to talk about artistic expression: we believe that we have a sensibility that combined with skills and craftsmanship can help distinguish the client’s work.
Projects: We’re very proud of the creative direction and production of Rodeo magazine’s Autumn 2013 issue that landed us Gold in the editorial section of the Kolla! awards in Sweden. We’re also very proud of landing an assignment in the property business, one we’re currently working on.
Aspirations: We would love to design a museum or gallery, and we also dream about working with a men’s fashion label. Our goal is to use our experience from the cultural world to attract clients from other areas who believe that artistic integrity, attention to detail and intuition can bring unique values to what they offer.
