Silvano Zeiter grew up in a small village in the middle of the Swiss Alps, so it’s no surprise that he began snowboarding at a young age. His magnetic attraction to powder sparked an interest in action photography, and he began shooting his friends, like Lib Tech pro Fredi Kalbermatten and the Bumann brothers.

At the age of 20, Zeiter made the finals in the international Red Bull Illume Image Quest competition—the youngest photographer ever to do so. Now 24, Zeiter has established himself as one of the most creative young imagemakers, with work appearing regularly in snowboard magazines and ads for clients like Billabong, Dakine, Swatch and Volcom.

Currently based in Zurich, Switzerland, but frequently traveling to shoot locations as varied as El Salvador, Japan and the Canadian backcountry, Zeiter says his goal is “to keep learning and adding layers to who I am and what I do.”
