Location: Los Angeles, California, New York City and Madrid, Spain. 

Career path: I’ve been drawing for fun since I was two. At first, photography was just something I played with. Then I discovered I could use it as a tool for expression, and it quickly connected my mind with the rest of the world—better than my words could convey. Education only confused what art meant to me. My instructors only taught me too many old rules, though now, they are useful. 

Emotional motivation: People normally hire me because of my personal work, so I try to create for them something similar to what I create for myself. It can be hard—normally in commissions, there are no emotions involved at all. Feelings are my motivation and material, and that’s why I appreciate having a close connection with the client so much—or creating one.

Artistic influences: Every new thing I see catches my whole attention and influences me. I feel like a psycho little kid, wanting to discover and know about everything. Worst of all, now that I’m an adult, I can spend a month overthinking every single question. It makes my life a bit crazy sometimes. My work is a little box where I can put all the influences and information I discover, love, live, hate, feel and fear.

Approach: When I was younger—too young to expect that anyone would care about my work—I had the freedom of having no filters, which made my work purely chaotic, full of emotions and darkness. I’m a bit more conscious now, but I still don't know what I’m doing. That’s why I love my approach so much: being a control freak is a gift, the only way to do what I deeply feel I need to do.

Aspirations: I want to feel like I’m still doing what makes sense to me, even if that means leaving everything that fills my life now. Anyway, I’d like to pursue a science career and get a dog—and being mentally healthier would be great.

Philosophy: It changes a lot, but as I said, my work is the most precious thing I have in my life. So avoiding everything that makes me hate it would be an appropriate answer!
