Duration: After a silk-screen workshop, I literally threw myself into creating this portfolio almost three years ago, and never turned back.
Staff: Me on a swivel chair between a drawing table and a computer desk.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Universite du Quebec a Montreal, in “la belle province,” Canada. My teachers were from Switzerland, Poland, Quebec, France. I myself am a product of multiculturalism, a special blend of bilingual North American of European descent, brought up partially in Africa.
Cultural influences: Stencil art, indie posters, graffiti, posters from the WPA, children’s books from the fifties, art brut, van Gogh, Gaugin and Picasso.
Environment: Home studio in Montreal, -22 Fahrenheit (-30 Celsius) in winter and 86 Fahrenheit (30 Celsius) in the summer.
Philosophy: It’s the journey, not the destination. Someone also said: Just do it.
Turning to nature always brings out the best lines in Portland-based illustrator @my Ruppel's work.
