Duration: Perpetual consciousness since 2003.
Staff: Dustin Summers and Jason Kernevich (pictured above), one loving spouse, the occasional freelancer and Zero the cat.
Education: BFA in graphic design from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia.
Cultural Influences: Action movies, Spaghetti Westerns, 1966 and the first half of 1967, typography, electric guitars, facial hair, leather boots, Swedish automobiles, New Zealand, wine and spirits, the out of doors, Saul Bass, Alex Steinweiss, Dashiell Hammett and General Ulysses S. Grant.
Environment: We reside on opposite coasts and maintain a very non-traditional partnership. We both work from home offices and communicate via cell phones, e-mail, instant messenger and telepathy. For illustration projects we work with our rep Frank Sturges, but sometimes clients just throw stones at our windows late at night. When not at the computer, we can often be found wrestling with the photocopier, drawing in comfortable chairs or raiding used book stores and flea markets for source material.
Philosophy: We believe images should be simple, memorable and must possess a quality of familiarity. We want our work to resonate conceptually, emotionally and stylistically.
The space filled with conflict, friction and strife inspires Jamie Kripke to shoot good photography.
