“Most anti-smoking campaigns attempt to convince smokers to quit by showing people suffering from the harmful effects of tobacco. But we found 70 percent of those smokers have already tried to quit in the past year. It became clear we didn’t have to convince them to quit. We just needed tell them that the QuitLine was the easiest, most successful way to stop using tobacco. We took a funny, slightly irreverent approach in this TV spot and calls to the QuitLine increased 90 percent over the previous year, by far the highest increase of any QuitLine in the country.”
