“Editing photographs from a great actor’s shoot is really amazing because, unlike mortals, they somehow look good in every picture with a great range of expression. In this shot for The New Yorker, actors Julia Stiles and James Wirt were reciting their lines from Scott Organ’s play Phoenix, performed at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City. We remember feeling guilty that we had to take pictures and couldn’t devote the full attention that their performance deserved. It’s too bad that we can’t stop and absorb what happens in front of us while we’re shooting.”
