“I spent a couple of days with US Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin, shooting Natalie at home and in training at the University of California, Berkeley. I added this quick shot after our original setup. I was a bit worried that Natalie would question my wanting to shoot her in an unkempt, cluttered storage area near the pool, but I think she saw what I saw and appreciated the texture and graphic nature of the environment.”
