Nimrods 3:00 (Open with shot of Watersmeet sign along snowy highway. Cut to a townsperson) Fan 1: They say the size of the community is probably a little less than a thousand people. (Cut to Town footage from the driver's seat of a van then cut to two hunters) Fan 2: We have 302 lakes and 241 miles of trout stream. We can fish, we can hunt Fan 3: Snowmobiling Fan 2: Snowmobile. (Cut to patrons sitting around a table in a restaurant) Patron 1: Where the waters meet. That's the Indian name, the water flows in different directions. (Cut to more Town footage and then a townsperson, Dale, sitting in his garage) Dale: It's just a great feeling to know that you can walk down town, and everybody knows ya. (Cut to more Town footage, then a close-up of the basketball Coach in his office. Cut to a shot of the front of Watersmeet High School) Coach: At Watersmeet high school we have 77 kids in our nine through twelfth grade and we have 19 boys out for our high school basketball team. And they're all proud to be Watersmeet Nimrods. (Cut to a shot of Grandma) Grandma: I'm a Nimrod, my husband's a Nimrod. My grandchildren, my children … (Cut back to the patrons in the restaurant) Patron 2: I'm a Nimrod. Patron 1: I'm a Nimrod. Patron 3: It's a Nimrod country. (Cut to fans cheering in front of a local Café) Fans: Go Nimrods! (Cut back to the Hunters) Fan 2: I've been a Nimrod for 48 years. Fan 3: 30. (Cut back to Dale then more town footage) Dale: I'm one of the original members of the first team that was a Nimrod. I'm the last one of the Mohicans, as they say. (Cut back to Coach) Coach: About six, seven years ago we had a survey. Ninety-five percent of the student body said that they would not want to change their nickname or mascot from Nimrod. They're very proud to be Nimrods. (Cut to Dale and then Watersmeet Game footage) Dale: When you walk down the street and see a neighbor, he's a Nimrod. That's what you look for. (Cut to more Game footage and then Grandma 2 on the couch) Grandma 2: We're from a small town and I think people are proud to be a Nimrod. They are proud they were a Nimrod and they're also proud their children are Nimrods. (Cut to Game footage and then back to restaurant) Patron 1: They've got a good little quick team and I was part of it at one time and I know what they're doing and I'm real happy for them. (Cut to Game footage and then back to Coach) Coach: Last year we were six and fourteen. Very proud of that record, but it's not good enough. We're one and O right now. We're undefeated. And tonight we hope to make it two and O. (Cut to Game footage and then back to hunters) Fan 2: Watersmeet is kind of a close knit community so when there's a basketball game, everybody's there. (Cut to Game footage of Cheerleaders at the game) Cheerleaders: Go Nimrods! (Cut back to Coach) Coach: It's about a ten year cycle for Watersmeet to have a chance to get to the big game, to be competitive and we're very excited about tonight's chances. (Cut back to restaurant) Patron 3: You're going to see an awful big crowd there tonight. (Cut to Game footage of fans going into the game) Patron 2: Oh, it's always a big game when the Bessemer Speedboys come into town. The rivalry there. (Cut to Coach talking to the team before the game) Coach: The Nimrod machine has to start tonight to get to where we want to get to and that's the top of the Porcupine Mountain Conference. We're two and 0 after tonight. All right? Ready? One, Two, Three … Team: Team! Coach: All right guys. Get two balls. We know what it's all about. (Cut to Game footage of the Watersmeet mascot and basketball team run through a giant paper sign and start warm-ups. Cut to the crowd cheering. Fade to red) Super: Without Sports, who would cheer for the Nimrods? (Fade back to color and then cut back to restaurant) Patron 3: Whether they win or lose, we still love them and we still stand by them. Patron 2: Yeah. Patron 3: Win or lose. Because we know they'll play their hearts out. (Fade to black.) Super: ESPN.
