Geisha Cop :60 (Open on a tough looking Japanese cop at the firing range. He looks angry and distraught as he fires off the last few rounds in his gun. Suddenly there's a hand on his shoulder. It's his chief's) Chief: Hiro, aitsuno kotowa hontoni zan-nendatta. (Hiro, I just wanted to say I'm sorry.) Hiro: Ee, hontoni. Demo ikura kuitemo aitsuwa mou modottekonai desukara. (We're all sorry Chief. But apologies won't bring him back.) (A beautiful Geisha girl suddenly walks by and catches the eyes of the two cops) Hiro: [Whistles] Arewa? (Who is that?) Chief: Kimino atarashii partonarda. (That, my friend, is your new partner.) (Hiro looks visibly upset. The Geisha cop catches wind of it., so the chief pulls Hiro aside) Hiro: Atarashii partonar? Boss, orewa komorinante. (My new partner? Chief, I'm not a babysitter.) Chief: Kanojowa syusekide sotsugyou shitanda. Kanarino yariteda. (She was at the top of her class. A real go-getter.) (The Geisha cop starts firing at her target. She shoots in a straight line across the target's neck, creating a perforated edge. She looks at Hiro who tries not to seem too impressed. He raises an eyebrow) Hiro: Iya, kanben shitekudasaiyo. (I'm getting too old for this.) (Geisha cop fires one more bullet at the taget's heart and the target falls to the floor, leaving only its head attached. The Geisha cocks her head and gives Hiro a look as if to say, "How you like me now?" Hiro gives a completely exaggerated look of shock) SFX: Gong (Freeze frame of Hiro's surprised look) Super: Geisha deka (Geisha Cop). Title card: Thousands of films are submitted. (Cut to a panel of judges at a long table. Cinema light is being cast on their faces. Cut to a close-up of a movie list. The title, "Geisha Cop," is getting crossed out. Fade to black) Title card: Few are chosen. Logo: Vancouver International Film Festival – September 23 – October 8, 2004
