“This year Molson Canadian sponsored the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, the most-viewed hockey tournament of the year. The tournament was in Russia. Broadcasts in Canada were at 4 a.m., meaning most people were recording the game to watch later. The trouble was, the Internet was full of score spoilers. That’s why we built the Spoiler Alerter, a browser extension that blocked any website on your computer containing content that would tell you the score. It worked on Facebook, Twitter and any other website, even e-mail. If there was any mention of the score, the Spoiler Alerter was there to block it—because you shouldn’t get the score until you want the score.”
