Written like a set of operating instructions, this baby 'owner's manual' should appeal to males without isolating females. We eschewed the cutesy approach of typical baby care books—saccharine-sweet photos and soft colors—and developed a utilitarian design that echoes appliance manuals. The instructional illustrations and schematics combine usable information with subtle humor. The color palette was expanded beyond its 2-color limit by mixing them throughout to create additional colors and increase the perceived value. 232 pages, 5 x 7, perfect-bound, 2-color throughout, round, cut corners.
