With a couple of new products on the market and a re-branding effort in progress, Palm wanted to make a splash at their global sales conference that would be a rally cry for employees, vendors and partners. AKQA was tasked with the assignment of making a very broad statement about Palm as the leader in mobile computing. We ultimately landed on the idea of creating an 'Other World,' a parallel universe represented by pictures, video, screen simulations, iconography and sound. Conceiving the idea was one thing. Making this mixed bag of stimulus feel orchestrated, fluid, and beautiful was the hard part. We couldn't have done it without Postpanic, our production company. Thanks also to a great client who, in order to meet our deadlines, endured a self-sacrificing trip to Amsterdam.
