The client wanted to communicate a point of view that was contemporary but rooted in tradition. The problem was referencing his academic background without presenting him as a practitioner of historical styles. When viewing his collection of vintage birdcages, we saw that some looked like his analytical drawings of Bramante's Tempietto. Our solution: Tradition is a beautiful cage with an open door. We are free to come and go as we please.
