I was given eight short fables that needed to be designed and packaged. Inspired by my favorite book series as a child, Maurice Sendak's Nutshell Library, I created a series of books that demanded to be held and played with as well as read. I wanted the books to feel part of a greater whole as well as stand-alone pieces. Eight illustrated books, held together in a single case, McSweeney’s 28 explores the state of the fable and features different writers and illustrators for each piece. 24 pages, 4 1/4 x 5 1/4, edition-bound.
