The logo design for The Cooper Union coincides with its 150th anniversary. Dr. Campbell (the school's president) said a new logo should transcend history, tradition and culture, and embrace the future. Inspired by this, and intrigued with the dialogue of science and art, the logo addresses the differences between science and art, as well as their commonalities.
