The challenge was to create a logo that leveraged the power of the name RIOT without any negativity. The megaphone was part of the initial sketching since they're commonly on both sides of a RIOT. So it's a great metaphor. It wasn't until the last hours of work that it was finally shaped into an 'i' and an 'o.' Plenty of pencil time.
