Hunter College asked us to produce an exhibition identity, supported by an affordable poster/catalog that could be distributed to visitors, and offered as a PDF to students. Our design makes contrasts and connections between 19th-century Americana and post-1960 American art, referring to Civil War broadsides, Pop Art silk-screen posters and 1980s DIY catalogs. Printed on textured white butcher paper, the poster progresses from dense black and white to a minimal 4-color poster, evoking the transition from traditional to contemporary American art. 24 x 36, 4-color folded poster.
