“Environmental graphics at Seattle's Federal Center South highlight the motto of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, ‘Building Strong,’ and its connection to the environment. The 30-foot steel I-beam identity sign references the organization's strength and the building’s architecture. In the lobby, a Duwamish River topographic relief wall features readerboards with real-time atmospheric and water-management data. The wayfinding program is anchored by quadrants named after the Duwamish’s historical tributaries. Three-story integral glass graphics and stone pavers illustrate technical data and the history of the rivers. Graphics and typography routed into reclaimed wood in the central spine and cafes underscore USACE's mission and historical impact.”
