“San Francisco’s PUBLIC Bikes asked me to create a poster for its PUBLIC WORKS project. We interpreted the ideas of ‘public’ and ‘bicycles,’ illustrating, in PUBLIC Bikes founder Rob Forbes’s words, ‘the impetus … to bring greater attention to the critical issues of public space, access and livability of our cities.’ The resulting cartographic composition features bike routes from major international cities, and vintage maps form the cyclist figure.” 20 × 30 and 40 × 60, 4-color, giclée on matte paper (small) and canvas (large).
