“A 13 x 19 poster to promote a show at the world-famous Bottletree Café, a homecoming of sorts for Birmingham native Katie Crutchfield’s Waxahatchee. What’s in a name? With Waxahatchee, inherent graphic possibilities! Stacked totem-like, the letterforms emerge from a dream-like murk that evokes both the music—hyper-personal, starkly confessional, distinctly feminine—and the Alabama creek from which the band derives its name. An initial digital short-run was followed with a limited edition of Giclee prints on archival paper.”
