“UMOCA asked us to design the invitation and identity for its annual gala. This year’s western theme was titled Diamond Horseshoe Roundup. Striving to avoid western-graphic clichés, we decided to direct a photo shoot with Allie, the horse. Posters were mailed to more than a thousand supporters of contemporary art and the museum. At each place setting, gala attendees were greeted with an image of gilded road apples. Letterpressed on the back was the dinner menu.”
