In Enter Exit, I photographed the daily lives of a community in South Africa. The focus is the surreal reality of the inhabitants, both ordinary and austere. I did not remain a detached observer, but engaged in the lives of the people photographed; the dark humor and harshness simultaneously reflect my empathy for my subjects.
