Documenting the chaos that followed the Haitian earthquake. It was a random act of nature; a violent, brief shudder that killed some 250,000 people. The earthquake's aftermath brought Haiti a very different upheaval: people who'd lost everything scavenged or stole to survive; food lines became desperate frenzies; and summary killings took place in the streets, with police sometimes the executioners. And the thousands more who should have survived? They died waiting.
