Emperor Penguins: Escape Velocity' shows the incredible contrast of penguins' movement on land and in sea. Despite their awkward waddle across the ice and snow, once emperor penguins dive into the water, they are both majestic and unbelievably fast. Scientists have now discovered how penguins achieve their top speeds: a layer of air that stays between the water and their dense coat of feathers, acting as a lubricant.
