With only one road in, the Gunflint Trail is 60 miles from nowhere and one tough bus route. This image was used to showcase the hazardous winter conditions that this International Bus vehicle faces on one of the most remote bus routes in America. The idea was to get an image from the air that showed the snow-covered road and the tall pines that line its edges. The day this image was taken, the temperature was in the minus 20s. We saw firsthand the harsh conditions the kids and school bus driver often face.
