Suruz Ali, 25, sits in the nonpaying sick ward at the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been suffering from tuberculosis since 2012 and has been in the hospital for the last six months. He was supposed to take medicine at home to be cured of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, but he did not continue to take it, and he returned to the hospital.
