The problem: How to design a memorable, typographically inspired calendar with a nod to sustainability for my home accessories line, Heather Lins Home. (www.heatherlinshome.com) The solution: 'A Year in Caps' is a series of twelve calendar cards printed on sustainably harvested birch veneer. I interpreted each month typographically: a thin, oblique typeface is cold, slicing rain; an ornamental swash, the curl of a pumpkin vine. Each card set is finished with a pretty ribbon, a gift tag printed on pressure-sensitive kraft paper and a reusable gift bag. Typeface: Clarendon and many, many others.
