The Continental Club in Houston, Texas, commissioned me to produce a poster for the Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys show. Big Sandy has a big following in Texas, so the promotional poster for the gig needed to capture his rootsy music. I wanted to create something that gave the feeling of an old, hand-made Saturday night dance flier; a handmade, screen-printed poster featuring hand-drawn type completed that vibe.
