Hinge is a 2-D/3-D typeface made from brass hinges. It was originally a school project at California State University, Long Beach in Andrew Byrom's Advance Typography course. Inspired from an everyday bathroom visit, Hinge's goal is to emphasize the possibilities of the normally mundane. As the door moves from closed to open, the typeface changes from condensed to extended. Dimension 65 x 85 x 36. Original typeface. Hinges and doorframe were created by hand.
