I am interested in recording type and signage in the world around me. These five spreads are made using mixed media on site. They are pages from sketchbooks that were originally small catalogs that I received in the mail. I repurpose each page in advance with gesso and grounded color. I scout locations, noting time of day and lighting, before drawing and creating the signs in the front seat of my car. Color is sometimes added later from memory or photographic reference.
