Cover of 8 Faces is a beautiful magazine that celebrates type. Every issue asks eight contributors, each a leading designer from the field of web, print, illustration or type design, a simple question: If you could use only eight typefaces for the rest of your life, what would they be? When I was asked to design the cover, I knew I wanted to do some fun lettering mentioning the issue's contributors; I ultimately decided to make monograms for each of the contributors, creating a moiré pattern-based cover rather than just a list of names. My cover was also a reaction to the previous month's cover, which was highly illustrative.
