Saippuakivikauppias is the longest single-word palindrome in the world. A beautiful term from the Finnish language, it roughly translates as: seller of soap-stone or dealer in lye. This set of experimental typographic illustrations was created by Danny Warner for the Palindromes 2012 series, first published in Slanted magazine. Generated using the the 'typographic topography' of Monotype's ubiquitous 1934 typeface, Rockwell, the series explores, dismantles—and attempts to make visible—the dynamic and essential elements of the slab-serif's internal structure.
