“I’m a recent graduate of Type@Cooper, a post-grad program in typeface design at Cooper Union. This project is an original typeface developed within the program. Wilber is a friendly-looking, modern typeface with robust bifurcated serifs. It is surprisingly geometric yet echoes decorative typefaces of the Victorian era. Developed as an original twenty-first-century design, it has been subtly infused with historical and cultural references. Wilber has a broad appeal to modern audiences. Its union of highly legible letterforms with a playful serif structure reflects an old-meets-new aesthetic that is well-suited to the spirit of design today. It is quirky but unfussy, inviting but understated.”
