“TOKY was selected to develop a new identity and responsive website for the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our solution turns the double o in Woody into the body of Guthrie’s guitar, onto which he’d famously painted ‘This machine kills fascists.’ The mismatched woodtype evokes several things at once: Woody’s name, the era in which he lived, his folk idiom and the midwestern arts and crafts traditions within which his art developed.” Typefaces: Champion, Shelton Slab.
