WalkNYC is a new program of pedestrian maps introduced by the New York City Department of Transportation in collaboration with PentaCityGroup that makes it easier to navigate the city streets. As part of PentaCityGroup, Pentagram helped create the graphic language of the maps, including a unique system of icons. The graphics use a custom version of Helvetica, Helvetica DOT, which makes all of the font's square dots round, giving the program its own unique look.
