Moondust is an artistic interpretation of the experience of flight in United's new international first and business classes, specifically the 180 degree flat bed seats in business class, scored with a spare, intimate interpretation of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. A thin layer of colored plasticine, applied to a glass plate, was carved successively to different depths, allowing light below to pass through. Filmed from above, frame by frame, it created a luminous, animated image of varying colors and intensities.
